GSAP's ETHOS Family Support Hub through funding from the WHSCT was delighted to bring the Hopeful Minds 2 day training Programme to local people working within the Greater Shantallow Area- a new curriculum project developed by iFred (the International Foundation for Research and Education on Depression).  It is based on research that suggests hope is a teachable skill. Its aim is to equip educators, parents, children and young people etc with the tools they need to find and maintain Hope even during the most trying of times

Teaching hope to children and young people will help build and maintain their resilience, result in greater well-being, it is vital to them reaching their potential even in the face of adversity, it equips them with social and emotional learning tools and it is a resource for suicide prevention.
