The Forge 'Northside Digital Archiving Hub

THE FORGE is a new community led ‘digital archiving hub’ set up in partnership between the Greater Shantallow Area Partnership, Outer North Partnership and the Nerve Centre with financial support from Derry Northside Development Trust. Before “first hand” memories fade or are lost THE FORGE aims to record and preserve the rich history and heritage of the Greater Shantallow Area for the benefit of current and future generations.

Foyle Community Works Programme Update

Great progress made by the Foyle Community Work Programme (FCWP) developed by the Derry/Londonderry Social Investment Fund Steering Group (SIF) in line with NI Executive's aim of tackling the systematic issues linked to poverty & deprivation, building pathways to employment, increasing community based services and addressing dereliction and promoting investment in physical regeneration of deprived communities.

Each week we will be spending time with members of our Shantallow Community, and getting to know their truly inspirational stories. Kicking off our new feature is Teresa O’Neill, known to us as one of Derry’s leading Zumba instructors, qualifying at the age of 40. Teresa is married with 6 children and 4 grandchildren and enjoys dancing, fitness and socialising with her friends. She is from Shantallow and an ex-pupil of St Brigid's Primary and St Brigid's High School.
