Sharing Stories Together

2 workshops will be delivered by Mary Duddy on Zoom Thursday 19th and Thursday 26th November

Sharing stories helps your child’s development in many ways

Reading and sharing stories can:

  • help your child get to know sounds, help develop language, literacy skills
  • learn to enjoy books and stories
  • develop your child’s imagination
  • help your child’s communication skills develop
  • help your child learn the difference between ‘real’ and ‘make-believe’
  • help develop your child’s emotions

This special time you spend reading together is a great bonding experience for you both.

The Zoom Story-Telling workshops delivered by Mary Duddy, will consist of 4/5 stories on each day.  Mary will open your imagination to playfulness, interaction, and the building of a positive fun relationship with your children.

The workshops will show how, the pictures on the page can be used to encourage your children to describe what they see, as well helping them become the characters in the story.

By using different voices and wearing many hats, creative skills will be developed. These can be used in your storytelling at home. Mary will lead you in a practice to make up your own stories, putting your children into the action and the events of the day!
