All of our FREE Pre-employment Training (PET) courses play an important role in preparing individuals for the world of work. We provide you candidates who are work ready for your vacancies and who understand what the job role entails. Getting involved in a pre-employment training programme is a great way to help people get ‘work ready’ and support more people into work in your organisation. OUR training courses are built around your company needs, ensuring we find the right positive and motivated candidates to better support your business needs. We will source potential candidates for you, screen them, provide them with a tailored training programme and prepare them for your organisation’s selection process. The Pre employment training is usually delivered over 2-3 weeks in one of our Eight (8) training centres (4 in Cityside, 1 in Waterside, 1 in Strabane, 1 in Lettershandoney, 1 in Claudy & 1 in Castlederg) across the DC&SDC area. What you can expect STAGE 1 WORKPLACE ASSESSMENT We can come and visit you on site to speak about your recruitment needs. We’ll ask you about the key skills required to fill your vacancy and have a proper look at what your business does, thus ensuring we can fully inform any potential applicant of the requirements. STAGE 2 APPLICANTS SOURCED Once we establish what you need, we will start to source the applicants. We use a range of methods to source applicants including a review of our exisiting Skills North West database of unemployed and economically inactive within the DC&SDC currently enrolled with Skills North West, job boards and social media. We keep your information confidential during this process. STAGE 3 OPEN DAY We will hold a session that all of our candidates will attend. This gives us a chance to screen them before training begins as well as giving the candidates the chance to decide if this opportunity is right for them. STAGE 4 TRAINING BEGINS Our 2/3 week course will begin the Monday after the open day. During this point, everything that has been discussed during the workplace assessment will be addressed and put into practice. STAGE 5 INTERVIEWS BOOKED This is where you get to meet the candidates that have been through our training course and conduct a formal interview. We will work with yourself and the candidates to arrange a suitable time/date for an interview. STAGE 6 BEGIN WORK Following the interviews, you will provide us with feedback on all candidates so we can arrange a start date with those who have been successful, and continue to develop and support unsuccessful candidates.
