The BOOK Talk Workshop reinforced for parents that learning to read is important but books don’t need to feel like hard work.

Parents and facilitators worked together to try out various strategies to make the written word exciting and to share their personal experiences of reading.

The Gruffalo was one of the books used and was a great illustration of how stories can be used in an exciting way. They worked together on rhyming words, discussed arts and crafts ideas about the story and made up the actions.

Parents and children really enjoyed the Closing game!!!!!!!
